Dr. Alan Cornwall is a character from the Frasier 2023 reboot. He is portrayed by Nicholas Lyndhurst.

Character[]

Alan Cornwall is an old college classmate of Frasier Crane and Harvard psychology professor. Despite his occupation, he does not appear to have any affection for his students. The reason for this is currently unknown.

Story[]

Alan and Frasier's friendship dates back to their Oxford days. While there, they both tried to join the private Bullingdon Club. However, after getting lights-out drunk, they snuck into the library and tried to steal Oscar Wilde's walking stick, but ended up getting tackled by a pack of surprisingly spry librarians and forever banned from the club.

Alan attended Frasier and Lilith's wedding in Aruba, where he wore a white linen suit, upon which Lilith told him he looked terrible in a fedora. He also translated for her to the police when she threw her coffee at a bellboy. He also kept pestering the bartender to add olive brine to the mojitos, to which Lilith called him "the briny bastard"; then after drinking 7 of them, he grabbed the microphone and told a bawdy story about a brothel in Amsterdam, his "go-to wedding toast"; then broke into the hotel menagerie and fed all the animals $2,000 worth of caviar, for which Frasier and Lilith were charged, to which he promised to "pop into his car, grab his wallet and pay them back", but he never returned.

Frasier gives a guest lecture at Harvard University as a favor to Alan, who appreciates his help.
