Charlotte Connor is a recurring character in Season 11 of Frasier. She is portrayed by Laura Linney.

Character[]

Charlotte is a savvy, smart, charming matchmaker, whom Frasier seeks out to find a good partner.

Story[]

Charlotte and Frasier meet when Frasier is looking to seriously improve his romantic prospects, as his his brother is having a baby and his father is getting remarried, making him feel lonely and empty. After charging Frasier $10,000, Charlotte sends him on a series of bad dates, causing Frasier to lose patience and demand his money back. He soon discovers that Charlotte only has five clients in her match making service, and scammed him out of ten thousand dollars with her illegitimate business run out of her apartment. In the end, Frasier forgives her and finds himself falling for her, only to discover that she has a boyfriend.[1]

When Charlotte goes camping with her boyfriend (Frank), and they get into a fight. Frasier has a spare key to her apartment so when Charlotte leaves the camping trip to return home, she and Frasier have a conversation that seems to indicate they will get together. At the end of the episode however, Charlotte calls her boyfriend and they get back together, leaving Frasier feeling empty.[2]

Charlotte and Frank end up splitting for good and she begins a relationship with Frasier. However, their relationship is forced to end when she informs him that she is moving back to Chicago (having bought back her business from her ex-husband) and neither are interested in a long distance relationship.[3]

Frasier accepts a job in San Francisco to move on up to television. But instead, the series ends with Frasier on a flight to Chicago, intending on continuing their relationship.[4]

By the time Frasier moves back to Boston in 2023 he and Charlotte have broken up.
