James Burrows is an American director (and writer, and producer) who has been at the helm for almost a thousand hours of TV shows, many of them comedies. He directed thirty-two episodes of Frasier, which (for him) was a relatively modest quantity, since his resume includes 188 episodes of Will & Grace and 237 of Cheers. The latter led almost inevitably to his directing the Frasier pilot. He was integral to the development of series from The Simpsons to The Big Bang Theory.
