Nanette Guzman is a guest character on Frasier. She is portrayed by Laurie Metcalf.
Character[]
Nanette is Frasier's first wife. Nanette and Frasier married while he was in medical school. During this time, she lived as a free spirited hippie. Later, she became a children's entertainer, performing as "Nanny G" (referred to in "Cheers" as "Nanny G-Spot" by a violently jealous Lilith). She made an appearance in the ninth season of Frasier, during Frasier's hallucination sequence in Don Juan in Hell, Part Two, as one of his former relationships, portrayed by Dina Waters. Later, she appeared in the flesh (portrayed by Laurie Metcalf) in Caught in the Act where she attempted to seduce Frasier, revealing an intense dislike of her career; in one memorable scene, she asks, "Do you know what it's like to play the same character for twenty years!?", a reference to Kelsey Grammer's own long tenure as Frasier.
Cheers[]
She made an appearance (portrayed by Emma Thompson) when Frasier and Lillith took Frederick to see one of her performances; at the time, Frasier was unaware that Nanny G was Nanette, and Lillith was unaware of her husband's previous marriage.
Trivia[]
