Dr. Olivia Finch is a character from the Frasier 2023 reboot. She is portrayed by Toks Olagundoye.
Character[]
Olivia Finch[1] is a professor and head of the Psychology department at Harvard University.
Story[]
Olivia Finch is Alan Cornwall's boss, who attempts to recruit Frasier to teach at Harvard after seeing him do a lecture as a favor to his friend Alan. She successfully convinces him after his personal goals realign with the city of Boston, opening his availability to the role.
Olivia hangs out with Frasier and Alan quite often. They go to a trivia night at the firehouse and get invited to the Founders' Society. Olivia is there for Frasier during the tough times.
Trivia[]
- Speaks Latin
- Has an adversarial relationship with her equally ambitious sister Monica
- Enjoys ice skating
- Enjoys talking down to others, especially Alan.
- Has narcissism showing insecurity, a lack of empathy (and disinterest of those around her outside of her own ambitions), grandiose selfishness and a fixation of social status. She also fosters an excessive need to be more successful than her sister and is borderline obsessed with it and one-upmanship. Additional instances are when she was shown to manipulate Frasier through lying to him with fabricated sentimental stories to win his favor [even if to fan his ego].
- Unlike Niles' obsession with oblivious Daphne: Olivia's obsession with Freddy is well known and seen to make him uncomfortable (similar to C.C.'s obsession with Maxwell Sheffield on "The Nanny")
