Synopsis[]

MILLENNIAL ROAD WARRIORS, THEY'RE NOT -- Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) recalls his millennial New Year's Eve as he, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Martin (John Mahoney) rumble down the backroads in Martin's bulky Winnebago bound for the wine club's festive get-together in Idaho -- until Niles accidentally falls asleep in a similar RV headed in another direction. Trivia[]

  • Frasier, Niles, and Martin are travelling southeast on The Old Oregon Trail (I-84) to Sun Valley, located in south-central Idaho. At one point Niles comments that he's calling from a "Little Red Cabin" in Baker City, Oregon. In other words, they cross into Idaho at the Oregon border, which would put them in the Mountain Time Zone.
  • In A Tsar Is Born when Martin shows Frasier and Niles a picture of the motor home he is buying, it is a Class C (basically, living quarters built onto a van with a sleeping compartment resting on top of the cab). In this episode, "RDWRER" is a class A motor home, much larger, entirely self-contained and certainly more expensive.
  • There is a character named Clifford in this episode, a possible reference to Cliff Clavin - one of the main characters on Cheers.
  • There is no snow on the ground in any of the exterior shots, despite the fact that this episode takes place on New Year's Eve and the exteriors are all set in Idaho and eastern Oregon.
  • The Oregon-Idaho border crossing on I-84 is formed by the Snake River. Thus, when the Cranes are just over the Oregon side of the border at the end of the episode, they should be standing on the Devo Bridge.
  • Rebecca Schull who plays Betty was one of the stars of the TV series Wings. Wings was created by David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee, the same team that created Frasier.
  • This is the first episode to premiere in the 2000s.
