Season 3 of American comedy series Frasier aired on NBC television network.

Plot[]

The plot of the third season explores a number of ongoing themes. It continues to highlight Frasier's tensions with his father, on wider fronts than just the home.

In the season premiere, new KACL station manager Kate Costas makes her presence felt and banishes Frasier and Roz to the overnight shift after he refuses her suggestion to do theme shows. Eventually, they compromise, and their combative relationship soon turns into one of lust before Kate resigns and moves to Chicago.

Niles also becomes separated from Maris during this season, which is further cause for a continuing story arc. Daphne likewise begins to have a more serious love life, meeting a charming gentleman named Joe DeCarlo.

A pivotal moment in the Daphne and Niles saga takes place in Moon Dance, in which they attend a society ball and dance a tango.

In other events, Frasier resolves to do whatever it takes to beat Martin in chess, Martin fulfills a dream of finishing a song he wrote many years ago, Frasier and Niles have a failed endeavor in a joint practice, the gang celebrate Leap Day with various failed endeavors, Frasier gets pushed over the edge when he feels the world around has no common courtesy and Frasier also gets paid a visit from his ex-fiancée Diane Chambers.
