The Crucible is the 6th episode of Season 1 of Frasier.
Synopsis[]
BAD IMPRESSIONISM -- Frasier (Kelsey Grammer) worries Martin (John Mahoney) will embarrass him in front of his elite guests when he hosts a cocktail party to show off his newest acquisition, a painting by a local prominent painter (guest star Rachel Rosenthal). However, Frasier's true humiliation comes from the "brush-off" he gets when the artist reveals a secret about the work.
